Authentic Audiences

I'd like to say I'm sharing something fantastic my students did but no.Our Principal cum teacher cum travel agent cum super woman, Edith Painting - Davis had her Level 1 Math class create Padlets as a destination/costing activity. Here is an example China Padlet
Our ReoRua unit travels overseas for a cultural learning experience (haerenga) every two years and Edith shared those Padlets in a FB messenger group at our first meeting two weeks ago.
Last night we met again to make a decision re: the destination. I asked those attendees who had a preferred destination  to form 'teams' ie Team Japan,Team Mexico etc use the Padlets to prepare a presentation to the meeting to convince everyone that their's was the best!
Funny as.  The vote was close between Japan and China - but we're going to China.
