Scratch -ing Beneath the Surface of Digital Technologies

An additional stressor lurking in the wings of our future school landscape is the Digital Technology Curriculum. I, personally don't tend to panic. After 37 years of learning/teaching I've learnt to do my bestest to enable my learners and not panic about upcoming changes. The coding aspect of the document had me second guessing, though.
But TA-RA Kerry and Monika brought some enlightening and timely experiences which

  1. Ruth thank you so much for the wealth of expertise and wisdom you have brought to this group during the DFI. I have greatly enjoyed reading your posts from afar. Your journey has inspired and challenged me, and yes, I have taken note of gentle suggestions that you have fed back through this and our other forums. We are a work in progress and share your commitment to what is best for our tamariki, our whānau AND our teachers. As you have pointed out from time to time, there is a lot of content that is built on the great things teachers have done in the past. We need our expert teachers to make sure that as the world becomes increasingly digital we do not lose sight of this. Now that the DFI has come to an end, please continue to reflect and nudge us. We value it.
